Maxxx Dennis, electronic soundscape composer, keyboardist, entertainer, and oboist who has served as the principal oboe of the University of Mary Washington Philharmonic for seventeen years and has been performing professionally in the Washington DC area since 1991.
Mx. Dennis has appeared as an oboe soloist throughout the United States and Europe with the University of Mary Washington Philharmonic, performing works by Mozart, Hummell, Dvorak, Copland, Bach. They have premiered chamber works by George Sosa, Christopher Jette, and Stephen Hennessey. They have also collaborated with such artists as Itzhak Perlman, Tony Bennet, Keith Lockhart, Linda Carter, Henry Winkler, Kristin Chenoweth, and Sir James Galway.
Mx. Dennis is active Board member of the Imperial Court of Washington DC. They are a member of SEAMUS
Mx. Dennis gives master classes and his former students go on to successful musical and non-musical professions. From 2002 to 2021, they served as principal oboe of the University of Mary Washington Philharmonic. Mx. Dennis joined the Music Department of the University of Mary Washington in 2005.
